Who We Are

The Hope and Healing Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Wellness, was founded in 2020 by married couple, Cedric J. Bell and Nicole Albanese-Bell. Cedric and Nicole founded the organization to promote awareness, and assist in decreasing suicidal deaths among Children and Veterans suffering from debilitating mental and emotional stressors.

Cedric and Nicole have been at the forefront of Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Education for over 20 years. As mental health clinicians, Cedric and Nicole have dedicated their lives to the support and healing of all who need it. They are committed to providing comfort and support to their clients and their client’s family members in times of need. Cedric and Nicole personally understand the pain and pressure family members experience watching their loved ones suffer. Their teenage niece was suffering from depression which led to an attempt to end her life.

Fortunately she was not successful however it was a terrifying experience. Upon recovery in the hospital, Cedric and Nicole who were luckily in town were requested by their niece to visit. This led to the beginning of her journey to hope and healing. Cedric and Nicole learned to support her in the ways she needed, providing guidance and tools to embrace her feelings and find her meaning of life. Their niece is now a mother of two and finding her meaning in life every day.

This event gave Cedric and Nicole first hand experience and fueled their passion and mission to decrease suicide rates among youths. About 2 years later, while living in Florida, Cedric and Nicole were impacted by several traumatic local events such as the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 students were shot, causing several fellow students to commit suicide in response to this trauma. Following these tragic incidents, 2 Deerfield Beach high school students committed suicide by train in the end of 2019 and early 2020. The impact of these events along with Cedric and Nicole’s personal experience with their niece led them to the research and analysis of suicide among youths, which is the second major cause of death among youth between ages of 10-24. These painful numbers led them to their next alarming discovery, Cedric and Nicole uncovered another population that was impacted by suicide at alarming rates: an estimated 17-22 Veterans die by suicide daily . Cedric and Nicole have several veterans within their family, some of which are Vietnam Veterans suffering from PTSD. They felt compelled to offer services for Veterans who have suffered for years due to war time efforts of saving our country. Cedric and Nicole are committed to decreasing the epidemic of death by suicide sweeping their communities and the nation. They hope you will join them in their life’s mission!
